Prom Prep #2!

Okay, so maybe you have an idea for an outfit, but have you thought about hair? If you are like me and do not want to spend a ton of money getting your hair twisted and pinned in a salon, I promise you can do it yourself and still be the Belle of the Ball!
On the Seventeen website I found all these ideas for prom hair! (There are a ton more so you should check it out!) Some are actually ones I never would have thought of on my own. Take a look! Here are a few of my favorites:

(FAVORITE!)

Ah... and shoes. There are different factors which may play into which shoes you want to wear:
  • Your dress / outfit
  • Your height / how tall you want to be
  • What kind of a dancer you are!
  • Your comfort level
1. Way Up There Heels

Look at these Steve Madden for Zac Posen heels. Inspiration for my dramatic and edgy girls.

These pretty neutrals could go with practically anything!

You can take the classic pumps up a notch by getting them in popping colors, or just these caged ones are pretty awesome

There's inspiration for ya from the Betsey Johnson runway.

2. Down to Earth

Fun ones.  Beware of clashing though please! Unless your clash is purposeful.

Just add a bit of sparkly magic.

3. A Happy Medium

Can you tell I obsess over Steve Madden shoes? Cuz' I do. ;)

Prom Prep #1

Prom sneaking up on you? Still have no idea what look you will dazzle the crowd with as you step out of your magical carriage? Let us begin by picking an outfit!

Now you could go totally original and rock some creatively amazing prom outfit that is not a dress. I would applaud you and you might end up on my blog. :) But, if you are that brilliant, then you probably do not need my help so much. I am going to help the majority of us who have our hopes set on a gorgeous dress.
But hey! Remember, you can wear a dress and still be different. If you so choose, you could try unexpected accessories, funky ties, belts, gloves, or bow-ties (you know I love them)! Just remember, it is your night to let your amazing beautiful self shine.
Reading some magazine, I learned about this website where you can RENT designer dresses for a few days or so! It's still a wad of cash in my book, but if you really want a fabulous designer prom night... http://www.renttherunway.com Don't worry, it's really easy to make an account. Even I just did it.
Do you possibly want...

Something fluffy et volumineux, like this darling Lanvin for H&M dress?

Something that came out of a Disney Princess's closet? (Honestly, though, how would you fit on the dance floor?!)

Something ethereal, like that orange Zac Posen dress or this floaty Marc Jacobs?

Something different with a pattern?

On the dark side? (This one looks awesome)

Something sparkly, goddess-like, silky, gothic, vintage?! So many possibilities!!! In the end, you know yourself; search for what you see in your imagination when you close your eyes. :)

What do you have envisioned?
